MY WHY
Growing up I always played sports and had a love for helping others. I played D1 sports throughout college until I decided to call it quits my junior year to pursue bodybuilding. I started out in college in the business school at ASU, and decided to transfer back home to the University of Minnesota. At the beginning of college, I wanted to start my own gym because working out and sports had always been my outlet and passion. When transferring back home something inside of me was telling me to transfer into the nutrition program instead of pursuing entrepreneurship, I didn't know if it was the right decision at the time, but I now know why it happened. I firmly believe that my life is where it is supposed to be and I am doing my calling. I am excited to share with all of you, the reasons why I decided to pursue a bachelor's degree in nutrition and get my certification in personal training, to then become an online fitness coach.
1. Make people gain confidence from the inside out
When clients typically come to me, they are generally wanting to live a happier, healthier life and feel good about themself. My favorite part about my clients is having them start off as feeling discouraged and unhappy with where they are, to checking in weekly, and slowly gaining that confidence that they had always hoped for. Making sure they know that it’s not always about the number on the scale, but also making sure we celebrate non-scale victories just as much as the weight loss. Taking my clients from feeling uncomfortable in their clothing to having it become loose and having to buy new clothes. Then having them learn to love their body again no matter what stages they are in!
2. Create a way of life that is obtainable to sustain
One of the things that are most important to me, is having my clients feel like they aren’t “dieting”. I do my best to make it known to my clients that you do not need to cut out any foods in order to reach your goals. All foods are okay to eat in moderation, and that is what is going to allow them to be able to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Keeping a healthy outlook on food is important to me and it is my top priority to have my clients have a healthy relationship with foods. I believe the healthier relationship my clients have with food, the better off they will be when they are no longer with me and decide to go off on and accomplish goals without me!
3. Create goals and crush them!
I am a go-getter, a goal accomplisher, and always striving to be better. I love proving people wrong that say something can’t be done. It can be! I love to drill into my client’s heads that whatever they focus on is what will happen. If you are focused on success, crushing life, and doing whatever it takes to get to your goal, you are going to be successful. With my clients, I like to set small goals and make sure they are obtainable. Each week making sure we are focusing on what can be better, and what we need to fix or tweak to crush the goals we set out to do!
3. Share my passion for health and fitness
Living a healthy, happy life brings me joy, and sharing that allows me to be happy. I love waking up every morning, feeling confident in my own skin, loving and cherishing the life I get to live. Health and fitness have helped me overcome so many obstacles as a child, in college, and now in my adult life. Putting my health and fitness as a top priority for me has allowed me to love the way I live my life. Having my clients share their health and fitness journey with their friends and family and spreading the word that it doesn't have to be a challenge to become a healthier version of yourself.
4. Educate people to live a healthy balanced lifestyle
Educate. Educate. Educate! Making sure my clients learn through their plans that living a healthy balanced lifestyle is important. Do I hold my clients to a high standard? YES! Do I allow them to celebrate family, friends, weddings, graduations, YES! Important celebrations for my clients are important to me! One meal off of the plan will not throw off your progress, as long as you get back on track and keep working towards your goals. One thing I look for in my clients is communication, that is key when working with a coach! The better you are about what is going on in your life, your success, your struggles that is where you will find greatness and success. I am so blessed to do this job, I take it very seriously, and I live to please my clients and give them the best experience they have ever had with a coach! I believe in tough love, and making them know I am always there when they need me regardless of what it may be and always pushing them to limits they didn’t think were possible!
