Motivation
People always ask, “How are you always so motivated?” The answer is I'm not. There are days, where I don't want to workout but I still push through. With the world we are living in right now, you can make up a thousand excuses as to why you don't want to workout. You’re too busy, too stressed, providing for a family, working long hours, don’t have time to go to the gym or workout, the list of excuses can go on forever.
The only person who can get you motivated to change is YOU. No one else should be your motivation, learn to put yourself first. The better you are, the better you can be for yourself, your friends, your family, and your future. If you truly want to make a change in your life, and you set goals for yourself and you want to reach them, it's all up to you and no one else. Putting yourself first is not selfish! Learn to put your obstacles in the past. Prove to yourself that you can surpass everything that steps in your way. Every excuse, every temptation, every thought of self doubt. Be confident in who you are, be true to yourself and learn to love every journey you walk through in life.
Set with making a plan for your day. If you do not prepare, you will always fail. Failure will lead to defeat, which will then cause you to lose motivation. Get into a new routine where you go to the gym at a certain time, on certain days, and the more you do it, the easier it gets. Before you know it, it will be a habit and you won't even think twice about it. It will be worked into your routine.
If you are just starting out in the gym, don't set yourself up for failure with unrealistic expectations. Start with small goals, maybe start with going to the gym 3 times a week, and slowly increase the amount of days and the durations of your workouts. Once you have met that goal, set a new one! If your goals are unreachable at first, you will feel like you are always falling short and never feeling satisfied with how far you have come because you are too focused on your goal that may be out of reach.
The most important thing to being motivated is to remember why you started. Why do you want to make this change? Wake up every morning, remembering the reason behind all of this. That reason will push you through the days where you aren't motivated, but that reason why, will motivate you. Don't lose sight of that, it is something you will have to fall back on countless times! Your reason why, will push you to limits you didn't even know you could reach. Think about yourself and picture how you will feel when you achieve your goals big or small and always remember that no matter where you are in your journey, it's yours and no one else's.
